Before the first hole is drilled

A camera should show the area that matters. Not simply the wall where it fit.

We discuss the viewing goal, height, angle, mounting surface, nearby obstructions, weather exposure and future battery access before choosing the final position.

What installation includes

More than attaching a camera to the wall.

The goal is a secure, intentional installation that fits the location and matches what you want the camera to help you see.

01

Understand the goal

We start with the area you want each camera to help you see.

02

Review the location

I evaluate the mounting surface, height, angle, access and general suitability.

03

Confirm the scope

We agree on the locations, work included and any limitations before drilling.

04

Mount it securely

The manufacturer’s hardware is installed using an approach suited to the confirmed surface.

05

Adjust the view

The camera is positioned for the location and purpose we discussed.

06

Confirm operation

We review the completed installation and confirm the device is operating within the existing setup.

Most homeowners already have their account and app established. Basic connection or app assistance may be available when needed, depending on the device and situation.

Around the home

Cameras for the places homeowners want to keep an eye on.

Every location has a different viewing goal, mounting surface and access consideration.

01

Front entrances

Porches, primary approaches and areas near the front door.

02

Rear entrances

Back doors, patios and common rear approaches.

03

Driveways

Useful views of vehicles and activity around parking areas.

04

Garages

Garage doors, service doors and suitable interior locations.

05

Side yards & gates

Walkways, side entrances, fences and gates.

06

Patios & backyards

Outdoor living areas and backyard access points.

07

Additional cameras

New devices added to an existing homeowner system.

08

Floodlight cameras

Selected wired projects reviewed around existing power and mounting conditions.

Battery-powered and hardwired options

The right plan depends on the camera and the home.

Residential camera projects are not all the same.

Completed work includes battery-powered Ring cameras mounted on brick and concrete, along with a hardwired Eufy floodlight camera installed beneath a residential soffit.

For wired equipment, the existing wiring, electrical box, mounting location and power arrangement must be reviewed before the installation is accepted.

Clear scope, no guessing: unsuitable wiring, electrical repairs or conditions outside the agreed installation will be explained honestly before proceeding.

Worth considering first

Questions worth answering before the camera goes up.

Small placement decisions can determine whether the camera is useful every day or frustrating from the beginning.

Is this the right height?

Higher is not always better. The useful height depends on the area and detail you want to capture.

Will it see the intended area?

A small change in angle or position can prevent an avoidable blind spot.

Can the battery be reached?

Battery-powered cameras should remain practical to charge or remove later.

Is the surface suitable?

Brick, concrete, wood, siding and soffit materials require different mounting decisions.

What could block the view?

Walls, overhangs, trim, gutters, lights and landscaping can affect coverage.

What can the camera realistically do?

Consumer cameras are useful tools, but expectations are best discussed before installation.

Real Cincinnati project

Three Ring cameras. Three locations. Two different mounting surfaces.

Brad’s project included three battery-powered Ring cameras: front, rear and garage locations; two exterior brick installations; and one garage concrete installation. Placement was discussed before installation, and no new wiring was required.

Homeowner review

“No drama and high quality work.”

★★★★★
“With Mr. Christopher, you'll receive no drama and high quality work. Mr. Christopher installed three ring cameras, took down an old satellite, and did a bit of furniture work. The whole process was smooth, professional, and timely, and at a fair price. I'll be a customer as long as he'll allow me to be one.”

Frequently asked questions

What homeowners usually want to know.

Exact requirements vary by camera, location, mounting surface and available power.

Can you install cameras I already purchased?

Yes. Most projects involve homeowner-purchased cameras. Send the brand, model and photos of the proposed installation locations so I can confirm whether the project is a fit.

Which residential camera brands do you work with?

I work with common homeowner systems such as Ring, Arlo, Eufy, Blink, Nest and similar equipment. The exact installation depends on the model, mounting hardware, power requirements and location.

Can you mount security cameras on brick or concrete?

Yes, when the location and equipment are suitable. Completed residential work includes Ring cameras mounted on exterior brick and garage concrete.

Do you install battery-powered cameras?

Yes. Placement should consider both the finished camera view and future access for charging or battery removal.

Can you help decide where the cameras should go?

Yes. We discuss what you want each camera to see and review the proposed height, angle, mounting surface and surrounding features before installation.

Can you install several cameras during one visit?

Yes, depending on the number of cameras, mounting locations and overall scope. Send photos of every proposed location so the work can be evaluated accurately.

Do you install floodlight or wired security cameras?

Selected projects may be a fit. I have completed hardwired residential floodlight-camera installations as well as battery-powered camera projects. Existing wiring, the electrical box, mounting location and power arrangement must be reviewed first.

Can you help with a camera that is already installed but not working?

Possibly. Straightforward residential troubleshooting may be available when the project is a fit. Problems involving defective equipment, account restrictions, weak Wi-Fi, damaged wiring or issues outside the service scope may require a different next step.

Do you provide advanced app or network configuration?

Most homeowners already have their account and app established. Basic connection or app assistance may be available, but extensive network troubleshooting and complete system design are not automatically included.

Do you install commercial CCTV or provide alarm monitoring?

No. This service focuses on homeowner-owned residential smart cameras—not commercial CCTV, large surveillance networks, business systems or monitored alarm contracts.

What should I send for a quote?

Send the camera brand and model if known, the number of cameras, wide and close photos of each location, the power type and a short explanation of what you want each camera to see.

My promise

Everything Working Before I Leave™

Installation is not the finish line. The project is complete when the camera is securely installed, the finished position has been reviewed and everything works the way you expected within the agreed scope.
